7th International Conference and Exhibition Desalination Latin America
12-13 March 2025 Santiago, Chile
12-13 March 2025 Santiago, Chile
International investment conference and exhibition “Desalination Latin America” is the only business platform for developing effective strategies, sharing experiences, presenting new investment projects and innovations, consolidating efforts of governments and business to implement desalination projects and to increase water supplies all over Latin America.
ENAPAC
Company: Solar Renewable Energies
Deadline: 2026
Estimated Investment: USD $ 1,5 Bn
The ENAPAC project consists of the production of industrial desalinated water, which will be destined for multiple users and using shared infrastructure, to reach those who require it, in the desert region of Atacama. The project will have a desalination plant with a maximum capacity of 2,630 liters per second, which will be supplied with solar energy and will also have a water reservoir with a capacity of 600,000 cubic meters, from where the water will be distributed to the different industrial users of the Atacama Region that require it. In this way, ENAPAC will be one of the most advanced multipurpose projects in the world, with a combination of reverse osmosis desalination with photovoltaic energy and multiclient distribution for multiple uses.
LOS CALATOS
Company: Hampton Mining Peru
Estimated Investment: USD $ 650 M
The desalination plant is part of a mining project which covers an area of 275km2, has been designated a project of national interest by the Peruvian government. Seawater is planned to be used for metallurgical processing purposes.
NORTH DISTRICT DESALINATION PLANT
Company: Codelco
Deadline: 2026
Estimated Investment: USD $1 B
The desalination plant which will supply the operations of Chuquicamata, Radomiro Tomic, Ministro Hales and all Codelco operations in Calama. The project will be developed by the consortium formed between Marubeni Corporation and Transelec and includes three pumping stations and a 160 km long pipeline to transport the desalinated resource to the reservoirs of the Northern District.
CRAMSA
Company: Compañía Regional de
Aguas Marítimas S.A
Estimated Investment:
US $ 5 Bn
CRAMSA’s «Aguas Marítimas» Project will contribute to solving the water supply needs for human consumption and industry in the communes of Antofagasta, Sierra Gorda and Calama in the Antofagasta Region. To this end, it considers the use of seawater from a catchment located in the Caleta Bolfin sector, outside the urban limit of Antofagasta, 12 kilometers south of Caleta Coloso, where a 700,000 m3/day desalination plant will be built with a seawater collection system and an outfall for the discharge of rejected water (seawater with a higher concentration of salts)
TÍA MARÍA COPPER MINE
Company: Southern Copper Corporation
Estimated Investment:
USD $ 1.4 Bn
The project involves the construction of a desalination plant that will produce 20,000 m3 / day of desalinated water, a pumping station, water storage tanks, conveyance pipelines, intake and outlet pipelines, biochemical reaction tanks and sedimentation tanks.
LA PAZ, SOUTH BAJA CALIFORNIA
Company: Oomsapas
Estimated Investment:
USD $ 41 M
The project consists of the design, construction, equipment, operation, maintenance and exploitation of the desalination plant in La Paz, Baja California Sur, with a capacity of 200 l / s. The project involves access and operation roads, direct marine catchment work, pipeline work to the plant, membranes, pumping plants, connections, delivery points, lines, storage and regulation tanks, power lines, implementation of service systems for contingencies, quality assurance, industrial safety and environmental protection.
